The Department of Political Science, Khalsa College for Women, celebrated the 76 th Republic
Day with enthusiasm by organising a Declamation Contest on the theme “Swarnim
Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas”. The event highlighted India’s rich heritage and its
achievements in development. Students participated in the contest, sharing their thoughts on
India’s glorious history and vision for the future. Their speeches reflected patriotism and a
deep understanding of the country’s progress.
The judge appreciated the innovative ideas and artistic skills displayed by the students.
Principal Dr.Kamal Grewal congratulated the winners and emphasized the significance of
Republic Day, urging students to contribute to the nation’s growth and development. She
praised the participants for their thoughts- provoking speeches and commended their
commitment to the nation.
Winners and participants of the contest were awarded with certificates. Ms. Kanu Rai, Ms.
Deepansha from BA III and Tanisha Kalsi (BA I) bagged first, second and third position
respectively. Everyone was encouraged to continue their journey of learning and self-
expression. The college remains committed to fostering a sense of responsibility, patriotism
and progress among its students, ensuring they are equipped to lead the nation into a brighter

Inter-College Women’s Tournament
KCW Ludhiana is proud to announce and host **PU Inter-College Track cycling Men & Women’s Tournament*2024-25 on 19 january 2025 at PAU Ludhiana. This prestigious event together talented male and female cyclist from seven colleges across to compete in Track cycling sports, showcasing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. In women section, KCW won the overall champion Trophy second GNC Narrangwal got 2nd position and SD college sec 32 placed 2nd Runner up trophy. In mens section, GNC Nartangwal clinged the over all champion trophy, PURC Ldh – 1st Runner up, and 2nd Runner up – SGGS-26 chd. Over 20 male – female cyclist representing 7 affiliated colleges from PU chd-guest of the day Dr. Paramveer singh Assist. Director of sports PAU ldh and principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal graced the event and congratulated and Appreciated the efforts of HOD physical education Dr. Mandeep Kaur annd her team and Mr. Sukhvir singh Cycling coach PU chd.
The seventh and final day of the special NSS camp
On January 16, 2025, the seventh and final day of the special NSS camp began
with refreshments that revitalized the volunteers for a day of celebration and
reflection. The camp concluded on a grand note with a vibrant cultural program
that included a compelling skit on cybercrime, captivating cultural dances, and
melodious songs dedicated to our motherland. The volunteers shared their
heartfelt feedback, reflecting on their experiences throughout the camp. They
emphasized the personal growth, invaluable lessons, and camaraderie they had
gained during the week-long event. The highlight of the day was the prize
distribution ceremony, where Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, Mrs.Sabina Bhalla,
Dr. Narinderjit kaur along with the NSS programme officers, honored the
winners of various competitions. Neha Singh, Ishita Aggarwal, and Komal
secured the first, second, and third positions in slogan writing, while Sakshi,
Naina Rana, and Asha were recognized as winners in poster-making. Anjali
Shukla, an MA (2nd Year) Fine Arts student, was awarded the prestigious title
of ‘Best Volunteer’ for her exemplary dedication and contributions. In her
address, Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal commended the volunteers for their
unwavering commitment to serving society and encouraged them to continue
their noble efforts beyond the camp.
The seven-day camp seamlessly blended education, service, and cultural
enrichment, leaving an enduring impact on both the volunteers and the
community. It celebrated the spirit of selfless service, teamwork, and the
transformative potential of youth in nation-building, serving as a testament to
the power of collective action and dedication.
KCW NCC Department Organised Seminar on 77 th Indian Army Day
Indian Army is one of the most powerful militaries of the world, competing with superpowers
like US, Russia and China. It works with the motto of ‘Service before self’ and its mission is to
ensure national security and maintain peace within its borders. To salute the valiant soldiers who
serve the nation and sacrifice their lives to protect the country and its citizens, NCC department
of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organised a seminar on the occasion of 77 th
Indian Army Day on January 15, 2025 in collaboration with 3Pb Girls Bn NCC Ludhiana. The
seminar was undertaken under the stewardship of College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Kamaljit Grewal,
Col. R S Chauhan (Commanding officer 3 PB Girls BN NCC Ludhiana) and Associate NCC
Officer Capt. (Dr.) Paramjeet Kaur. 106 NCC Cadets along with PI staff became part in this
seminar.
UO Aabha, Cadet Babli, Cadet Nikita, Cadet Sakshi and Cadet Tamanna initiated their
discussion with the importance of celebrating Army Day. The day is celebrated in remembrance
of Field Marshall K.M. Carriapa, the first Commander- in-Chief of Army. The NCC cadets
beautifully narrated the history behind Army Day and discussed about major wars fought by
Indian Army over the years. The cadets also talked about recent operations undertaken by Indian
armed forces and highlighted the values of Indian army such as loyalty, duty, respect, selfless
service and personal courage. They explained the need of developing leaders for Indian army by
quoting various examples of Army Officers. They inspired the young cadets by narrating stories
of bravery and courage which Indian soldiers have always shown.
In the concluding remarks the cadets suggested their co-cadets to be responsible citizens of
nation as they are going to be the torch bearers of the country. They inspired young cadets to be
the leaders in whichever field they enter. Overall the session was quite interactive and
informative.
College Principal Dr. (Mrs) Kamaljit Grewal appreciated the efforts put in by NCC department.
She applauded cadets for their sincere efforts and motivated them to join the armed forces in
future. She added that such activities instil the feeling of patriotism in the young minds and
connect them with their rich heritage.
Organized a Free Healthcare Medical Camp
On January 15, 2025, the NSS unit of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organized a Free Healthcare Medical Camp as part of their 7-day special camp. The event brought together a panel of specialists, including dermatologists, ophthalmologists, dentists, physiotherapists, and medical laboratory technologists, to provide comprehensive healthcare services. Free sugar testing was also offered to ensure accessible and inclusive health screenings for the community. The camp was conducted in collaboration with renowned professionals and institutions, including Miss Navdeep and her team from ASG Eye Care Hospital, Dr. Pallavi Madan from Clove Dental Clinic, Dr. Tejasvi Dhiman and his team from Dr. Tejasvi’s Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre, Mr. Manjot Singh from Path Lab, and Dr. Harleen Kaur and her team from Sohana Hospital. The event saw enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, students, and faculty members, all benefiting from the diverse range of medical services provided. Volunteers actively assisted the medical teams, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the day. In a heartfelt gesture, the Principal of Khalsa College for Women, Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, warmly welcomed the dedicated medical professionals and expressed profound gratitude for their invaluable contribution to the well-being of the community. The camp exemplified the spirit of service and collaboration, leaving a lasting impact on all those involved.
Celebrated Lohri festival with the physically challenged kids of the NGO
The members of the Rotaract Club visited Teri Oat Viklang Sanstha on 13th January, 2025 and celebrated Lohri festival with the physically challenged kids of the NGO. The students collected the funds from their pocket money and got various sweets, popcorns and other eatables for the children of the NGO. The students lit lohri bonfire, danced with these children and were so happy to see the smiles on their innocent faces. The bonfire has not only given them peripheral warmth but also filled their hearts from inside. These initiatives inculcate the sense of gratitude and belongingness to the society among the students. The students get to see the real world challenges faced by these children and also contribute in reducing their own mental stress. Head of the Rotaract Club, Dr. Aanchal Arora assured madam Iqbal Kaur, founder of Teri Oat NGO to pay more such visits to them. Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers of the club to organize such substantial events.
NSS Camp
On January 10, 2025, the NSS Cell of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, started a seven-day special camp with the theme ‘Youth for My Bharat.’ The camp commenced with morning refreshments, followed by a solemn inauguration by Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal. The event began on a spiritual note with the Shabad ‘De Shiva Var Mohe’ to seek divine blessings. The NSS volunteers further set the tone for the week by singing the NSS theme song. During the inaugural ceremony, Program Officer Mrs. Vibha Jain presented the annual report for the year 2023-2024, highlighting the achievements and contributions of the NSS unit. Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal inspired the volunteers with her encouraging words, urging them to participate wholeheartedly in the camp. She emphasized the importance of cultivating the spirit of selfless service in everyday life and underscored how such initiatives help shape individuals while contributing to society. Following the inaugural ceremony, the volunteers were introduced to the aims and objectives of the camp. An engaging ice-breaking session allowed participants to introduce themselves, fostering camaraderie and a sense of belonging among the group. After lunch, the evening session focused on organizational planning. Various committees, including the Discipline Committee, Cultural Committee, Mess Committee, Refreshment Committee, and Editorial Committee, were formed. Volunteers were assigned specific roles within these committees to ensure smooth functioning and active involvement throughout the camp. The day concluded on a positive and energetic note, setting the stage for a week of learning, teamwork, and meaningful contribution to society.

PG Department of Mathematics of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana celebrating national mathematics day enlightening the students about the achievements and incredible journey and mathematical brilliance of Srinivasa Ramanujan through a presentation. Students were acquainted with with legacy of great mathematician and there are fun games and activities for students so that they test their knowledge with engaging games and they explore the beauty of Mathematics!

Valedictory Session of the Account Executive Course under NSDC.
The PG Department of Commerce, in collaboration with Bal Vikas Trust, proudly hosted the Valedictory Session for the Account Executive Course, marking the successful completion of the program by 34 enthusiastic students. The event, held on December 4, 2024, celebrated the participants’ hard work, dedication, and achievements.
The course aimed to equip students with essential skills in accounting, financial management, and business operations, ensuring they are industry-ready for promising careers. The students’ impressive performance and commitment throughout the course reflect the high standards of training imparted.

PRAKASH PURAB CELEBRATIONS
To commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Guru of Sikhs, Guru Nanak Dev Ji Akhand Path Sahib was organized in the Sarjit Gurudwara situated in the premises of Khalsa College for Women. With the solicit divine grace, this grand day was celebrated with devotion under the able guidance of Khalsa Dewan. College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Kamaljit Grewal along with Khalsa Institute of Management & Technology and with cooperation from Malwa Central College of Education, Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School, Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School for Boys, the entire college management, the staff, students and hostlers of Khalsa College for Women Prakash Purab was celebrated with great devotion and fervour.
Keeping up with the tradition, this divine service concluded on November 15, 2024 with the Bhog Ceremony. With the auspicious beginning of Akhand Path on 13th November, 2024 , Prabhat pheri was also carried out in the college campus wherein students living in the hostel participated with great devotion and enthusiasm. Gurdwara Sahib was decorated in a very beautiful manner. Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, Director Dr. Mukti Gill and members of the college management committee were present on this occasion. Hostel students from various streams participated zealously in ‘Sewa’ in different areas such as cleaning of Gurudwara premises, cutting and chopping of vegetables, making chapattis, preparation of ‘Karah Prasad’, and ‘Langar’. staff members of the college also contributed towards the service. The devotees were mesmerized with the soulful ‘Shabad Kirtan’ performed by Raagi Jatha from Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana and students from sister institutes. Such celebrations encourage everybody to step forward to rouse consciousness for a proud culture. After Ardas, langar was distributed, which was prepared by the teachers, students and staff of the college with their own hands with great devotion.
