5-Day WORKSHOP ON LIFE SKILLS TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

Youth club of Khalsa college for women, civil lines, Ludhiana in collaboration with United Network of Young Peacebuilder and Youth for Peace International organizes a five day workshop on life skills. In order to celebrate the International Youth Day, workshop begins on 12th August. It is an effort to empower the 100 young women, who participated in it by building their capacity to translate knowledge, attitude and behavior related to cognitive, emotional and social development. Mrs. Mukti Gill, Principal, motivated the students to participate in the workshop whole heatedly and cheerfully.This workshop will help the participants in acquiring the ability to reduce specific risk behavior and adopt healthy behavior that improves their lives in various ways such as presenting self , planning ahead, teamwork, career planning, decision making and forming positive relationships. The effective facilitators, MrMridul(Asia Coordinator of UNOY)and Mr Sanjeev (Peace Ambassador of UNOY) enlightened the young participants with the help of non-formal experiential education, interactive activities, play for peace and reflective sessions. The proposed modules for the 5-days workshop i.e. from 12th to 16th August are – knowing self, prejudice awareness and reduction , empathy, team building, active listening, communication, story -telling, difficult conversation, debate vs dialogues, constructive feedback and negotiation. The goal of this workshop is to build knowledge, cognitive and non-cognitive skills and abilities that participants can develop and retain throughout their lives.
