31 st October 2025, B.Sc. (Honours) Biotechnology students and three faculty members of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, recently undertook a pivotal educational visit to the prestigious Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali. The visit was specifically organized to bridge the gap between classroom theory and cutting-edge practical research.
The visit provided students with invaluable exposure to a world-class scientific ecosystem which
included engaging sessions with active researchers and a detailed tour of sophisticated laboratories. A significant highlight was an inspiring talk by Dr. Lolitika Mandal (Head, Biological Sciences) a renowned expert in Developmental Genetics and Stem cell research. Dr. Mandal’s session on the latest scientific advancements in their specialized field significantly ignited the students’ interest in pursuing research careers.
