KCW NCC Department Celebrates NCC Day

NCC day is celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday of November commemorating the founding of National Cadet Corps (NCC). In 1947, on this day the first units were established, therefore the day recognises NCC as world’s largest uniformed youth organisation. To commemorate the establishment and achievements of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the NCC Department of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana celebrated NCC Day on 21st November 2025 at the college campus, in collaboration with 3 PB Girls Battalion NCC, Ludhiana. The event aimed to honour the NCC’s dedication to Nation-building, highlighting the values of discipline, leadership, unity, and selfless service among young cadets. The celebration began with an inspiring session under on the theme “National Integration” where cadets emphasized the spirit of National Solidarity through a well-structured lecture focusing on the NCC organization’s core values and long-standing objectives. Cadet Radhika, Cadet Sneha, Cadet Akshita, Cadet Suman, Cadet Palak and Cadet Amandeep Kaur highlighted the role of NCC in developing Character, Discipline and Leadership among Indian youth. The lecture came to a conclusion with discussion on the contribution of NCC cadets towards the unification of Nation. The atmosphere became more vibrant as cadets enthusiastically raised the patriotic slogan “Vande Mataram”, igniting a sense of pride and devotion towards the nation.
College Principal Dr (Mrs.) Kamaljit Grewal Addressed the young cadets and said that such events enhance the cadets’ awareness about the vital role NCC in shaping tomorrow’s responsible citizens. She added that by such event cadets learn how NCC training not only develops strong personalities but also opens doors to diverse career opportunities, especially in the defence sector and other prestigious services.
The celebration concluded with a renewed sense of motivation, as cadets pledged to uphold the ideals of the NCC and contribute meaningfully to the nation.
