Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year to honor and salute our brave veterans for their selfless service and valiant deeds, and to reaffirm our solidarity with the Armed Forces personnel who stand as the guardians of our freedom. Upholding this noble spirit, the NCC Cadets of Khalsa College for Women celebrated Armed Forces Flag Day with remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and patriotic zeal on 7th December 2025.
The cadets actively participated by collecting donations through the sale of tokens and flags. Their wholehearted involvement reflected a deep sense of duty and commitment towards national service. With sincere efforts and generous contributions, the cadets successfully raised funds for the Flag Day Fund—an act that symbolizes their respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by soldiers. The collected amount was remitted to the District Defence Services Welfare Office, Ludhiana. These funds are utilized for the welfare of families of soldiers who laid down their lives in battle, and for disabled and needy ex-servicemen and their dependents who face hardships in earning a livelihood.
College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Kamaljit Grewal appreciated the exemplary efforts of the NCC Department and the cadets. She emphasized that many service personnel endure life-altering disabilities in the line of duty, while countless gallant soldiers make the supreme sacrifice to protect the nation’s honor. She added that such initiatives not only strengthen our bond with the Armed Forces but also inspire the younger generation to uphold values of courage, discipline, and national pride.
She further remarked that the cadets’ dedication demonstrates how youth can play a meaningful role in nation-building. Their service reinforces the message that honoring our soldiers is not just a duty, but a collective responsibility of every citizen.
