Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, inaugurated two-day Annual Athletic Meet on February 27, 2026. Eminent personality Sardar. Dilpreet Singh, Arjuna Awardee, Hockey Olympian, DSP, Punjab Police, graced the event as chief guest and Mr. Varun Kumar, Arjuna Awardee, Hockey Olympian along with Ravneet Singh, International Hockey player were the Guest of Honor. Director Dr. Mukti Gill, the Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal and the students extended a warm welcome at the arrival of the guests in the college premises. The meet kick started with the march past by the students. The guest of the occasion by taking the salute of march past and hoisting flag declared opening of the Athletic Meet.
Balloons of various hues rose merrily towards the sky mesmerizing the spectators and spreading the message to the participants to reach for the sky in their efforts. An oath to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship was also administered by the students.
In his address Mr. Varun, highlighted the importance of sports in life and added that apart from commemorating victories, sports events also impart lessons on discipline, sportsman spirit and camaraderie. The guest also appreciated the dedication and commitment of the institute towards Sports,
cultural activities and academics. He congratulated the Management and the Principal on their achievements. A power packed Martial Arts show was delivered by the students showcasing courage and valour highlighting the importance of health and fitness. Student Council showcased essential role of volunteers under the title International year of volunteers which is marked to meet 2030 agenda of sustainable development. Student Council delivered a significant message identifying the role of volunteers in accelerating action towards gender equality, industry innovation, climate action, peace and justice.
A unique display of stamina, competitive spirit and precision was showcased as participants strove to prove their best in various sports events which included 50-meter race, chatti race, Shot Put, High Jump,
SpoonPotato Race, Long Jump, Three-legged race etc. The day was filled with exciting victories.
