B.Sc-Non-Medical students excelled in various competitions held on National Science Day at L.P.U

National Science Day is celebrated every year on 28 th  February to commemorate the discovery of the
‘Raman Effect’ made by the eminent physicist Sir C.V. Raman. On National Science Day, theme
based science communication activities are carried out all over the country.
The School of Chemical Engineering and Physical Sciences of L.P.U. marked National Science Day
2025 on February 28th with an online ,offline and hybrid mode, aligning with this year’s theme,
“Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for a Developed India.”
The event focused on highlighting the crucial role of youth in driving scientific progress and
technological innovation in the nation.The program featured a compelling guest lecture titled “The
Role of Indian Youth in Shaping a Technologically Advanced Nation,” which explored the
contributions of young people to the country’s tech landscape and their potential to accelerate
progress in various scientific fields.Participants were actively engaged in a Science Quiz, which was
conducted in both online and offline formats, offering an exciting opportunity to test and enhance
their scientific knowledge.Riya Thakur,Taranpreet Kaur,Niharika Tayal from B.Sc-3(N.M.) got third
prize in science quiz.Additionally, the elocution competition, with the theme “Edu Revolution: Role
of AI in the Future of Education,” allowed students to share their thoughts on how artificial
intelligence could revolutionize education and shape future learning environments.Inayat sabharwal of
B.Sc –I(N.M) won the first prize in elocution.A standout feature of the event was the poster
presentation titled “Science and Innovation for a Developed India,” where students displayed their
innovative ideas and visions for a future driven by scientific advancements.The prize in this category
was clinched by Prisha Murghai of B.Sc-III(N.M). Students from various prestigious institutions,
including *Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, **SCD Govt. College for Boys, Ludhiana, and
*CBC Institute Nokodhar, along with students from several schools and colleges across Punjab,
participated enthusiastically in the event.The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 100
students. It successfully underscored the vital role of India’s youth in scientific and technological
development, reinforcing their potential to lead the nation towards a brighter, technologically
