Semester-I examinations, results of which were declared by Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Harshleen Kaur bagged 1st position in the University with 8.88 SGPA. Kirandeep Kaur
clinched 7th position in the University with 8.5 SGPA. Five students namely Khushpinder
Kaur, Rozy, Ritika Rani, Yuvika Kwatra and Silvi Bhatia secured 9th position with 8.42
SGPA. Jaismeen Kaur, Gurshanveer Kaur and Ramandeep Kaur bagged 11th position with
8.33 SGPA. Geetika secured 13th position with 8.25 SGPA. Jasleen Kaur and Saanvi Garg
achieved 14th position with 8.21 SGPA. Gurpreet Kaur, Sunreet Kaur and Harkamal Saini
secured 15th position with 8.17 SGPA. Muskan and Sehajpreet Kaur attained 16th position
with 8.13 SGPA. Gurpreet Makkar and Tripti achieved 17th position with 8.08 SGPA. Samriti
Bhambi secured 18th position with 8.04 SGPA whereas Pawni Sharma and Simranjot Kaur
bagged 21st position with 7.92 SGPA.
The students expressed immense joy on securing university positions and credited their
success to the constant guidance and encouragement by the faculty members and consistent
support provided by the Principal and college management.
The college Director Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill and Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Kamaljit Kaur Grewal
congratulated the students for their remarkable achievement and appreciated the dedicated

KCW Biotechnology Students Excel in Panjab University Results
The Students of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, once again demonstrated
academic excellence in B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology results announced by the Panjab
University (PU), Chandigarh held in December 2025 under the NEP-based
Multidisciplinary/Interdisciplinary curriculum.
Arshiya Sharma brought laurels to the college by securing the Third Position in the
University with an impressive 9.04 SGPA, followed by Palak, who bagged the Fifth Position
with 8.88 SGPA and Manika Sharma secured ninth position with 8.71 SGPA. Arshita Sharma
(8.46 SGPA), Ishmeet (8.46 SGPA) clinched the Fifteenth Position. Overall, the result is
hundred percent.
The meritorious students credited their success to dedicated effort, parents support, and the
constant guidance of the faculty. The College Management and the Principal, Dr. (Mrs.)
Kamaljit Grewal, congratulated the Department of Biotechnology for its commitment and
tireless efforts.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING THROUGH INSTITUTIONAL FIELD VISIT
The Department of Psychology, Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, organized a field visit to the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), Mohali, recently renamed as Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development on February 26, 2026. A total of 55 students participated in the visit under the guidance of Dr. Aditi Satija and Ms. Rhythm Arora.
The visit commenced with an institutional tour where students were introduced to various functional units of the institute. They visited the Child Guidance Room, where interdisciplinary services are provided through collaboration among Special Educator, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Physiotherapist, and Clinical Psychologist. This exposure enabled them to understand the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention planning.
The students were then taken to the Screening Room, where they were familiarized with various psychological and developmental assessment tools used at the centre. These included the Vineland Social Maturity Scale, Alexander Pass Along Test, Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Binet-Kamat Test, and Developmental Screening Test and many more. The purpose, administration, and application of these tools were briefly explained, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with practical assessment procedures.
The institute library was also shown to the students, which houses extensive resources related to child development, disability rehabilitation, special education, and inclusive practices.
In addition to clinical and training services, the institute actively engages in research activities focusing on child development, disability studies, early intervention, and policy implementation. The students were informed about the institute’s role in conducting research projects, contributing to evidence-based practices, and supporting government initiatives through data-driven insights.
In addition to clinical, training, and research services, the institute also conducts various structured training programs for professionals, educators, caregivers, and community workers. These programs focus on areas such as early identification, intervention strategies, inclusive education, disability rehabilitation, and capacity building. The students were informed about how these training initiatives strengthen professional competencies and promote evidence-based practices at the community and institutional levels.
After the tour, an informative lecture session was conducted by Smt. Sonali Kumari, Assistant Director and Dr. Ravi Kumar, Special Educator. They elaborated on the various government schemes implemented through the institute and explained how they collaborate with different governmental and allied bodies to provide integrated services for children with special needs. The session was highly interactive and broadened the students’ understanding of professional roles within rehabilitation, research, and community outreach.
The visit proved to be an enriching academic experience, offering practical exposure to multidisciplinary intervention, standardized assessment tools, research orientation, and institutional functioning.
The Principal, Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, appreciated the efforts of the Department of Psychology for organizing such a meaningful and informative field visit. She emphasized that such experiential learning opportunities help students develop professional competence, sensitivity, and a deeper commitment toward inclusive and research-driven practices in psychology.
The PU Skill2Market Hub
The PU Skill2Market Hub, a flagship initiative of the College Development Council (CDC), Panjab University, Chandigarh, was successfully organised on 4th May 2026 at the Panjab University Campus. The event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, whose presence added great distinction to the occasion.
The initiative, conceived and spearheaded by Prof. Ravi Inder Singh, Dean, College Development Council, Panjab University, aims to bridge the gap between skill development and market exposure for students of affiliated colleges. The event provided a vibrant platform for student entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their handcrafted products, thereby translating classroom skills into real-world enterprise.
The Ludhiana District Forum was organised under the dedicated leadership and coordination of Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, Principal, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, who served as the District Forum In charge for the Ludhiana region.

Their stall, featuring premium handmade soaps, decorative candles, wooden artefacts, and stone art, drew particular admiration from visitors and officials alike.

KCW ORGANIZED WORKSHOP ON BIOTECHNOLOGY
The Department of Biotechnology, Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, organized two-day workshop on “Biotechnological Techniques and In Silico Analysis of Biomolecules.”
The Day 1 commenced with an insightful session on Fermentation Biotechnology by Dr. Alla Singh, Scientist (ICAR–Indian Institute of Maize Research) attended by B.Sc (Hons) Biotechnology students as well as 30 students from various reputed schools. The session focused on microbial physiology, starch degradation, enzymatic conversion of starch into glucose, and its industrial significance in ethanol production. A special emphasis was placed on precision fermentation and microbial enzyme-based applications. Dr. Alla Singh also conducted hands-on practical demonstrations for both college and school students, providing direct experimental exposure.
This was followed by the introductory session on Microbiological Techniques, which covered fundamental concepts such as sterilization methods, serial dilution, staining techniques, and culture methods. After the introduction, students from various schools actively performed hands-on experimentation, gaining valuable laboratory experience and strengthening their basic understanding of microbiological techniques.
On Day 2 students learnt the decoding secrets of Biomolecules by computational analysis. All the participants were awarded with the certificates. Dr. Mukti Gill, Director, Khalsa Institutes and the college Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Kamaljit Grewal lauded the efforts of Department of Biotechnology and congratulated for the success of the event.
‘Soirée d’ Adieu’ at KCW
The Humanities Department of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized Farewell Party Soirée d’ Adieu’ for B.A IIIrd year students on April 18, 2026. The entertaining extravaganza comprising dances, melodious Songs, Bhangra, mesmerizing musical-performances and choreography was presented by the students. The hallmark of the day was Ms. Farewell contest in which a number of students participated and contested for various titles.
Dr. Khushdeep Kaur, Associate Professor, Commerce along with Dr. Pooja Chatley, Head Department of BBA and Dr. Charita, Head Department of Physics were the Judges for the show. Aamiya Jain was entitled as Ms. Farewell 2026, and Bhavika and Muskan were crowned First Runners up and 2nd Runners Up respectively.
Ayushi Aroa bagged the title of Ms. Radiant Smile, Shreya was graced with the title of Ms. X-Factor. Anshika Sehgal was sashayed down for Ms. Sartorial Diva and Ekta Kapoor was adjudged Ms. Rapunzel, Kashish was crowned Ms. Gajgamini.
College Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal congratulated coordinators Mrs. Sabina Bhalla, Head Department of English and Dr. Narinderjeet Kaur, Head Department of Punjabi on the success of the event. 63rd Prize Distribution Function held at KCW
In the endeavour to acknowledge the continuing saga of glorious achievements of its students the 63rd
prize distribution function of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines Ludhiana was organized on April
9, 2026 in the college Auditorium. Ms. Justice Ritu Bahri, Former Chief Justice, Uttarakhand High
Court graced the occasion as chief guest. Member of College Managing Committee Madam Kushal
Dhillon, Manager KCW, Director Dr. Mukti Gill and Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, accorded a warm
welcome to the Guest on arrival. The programme got off to a magnificent start with the college Shabad
recitation. The Annual Report was presented through multimedia highlighting the different activities
and achievements of the Institute during the academic year. The persistent hard work of the students
reaped rich dividends in the year 2024-25, where in students secured various 93 Top Ten positions in
the university exams grabbing 9 first, 6 second and 12 third positions respectively.
Physical Education Department managed to clinch 36 Gold Medals, 38 Silver Medals, and 43 Bronze
Medals. The college clinched Ist Runners up trophy at the P.U Zonal Youth Festival organised at SCD
Government College, Ludhiana. Students Bagged 37 prizes in all, 15 first, 09 second & 13 third prizes.
At the inter-zonal of Heritage Festival organized at A.S College, Khanna bagged 17 prizes. College
student Rupali Sharma bagged National second prize in mimicry in 39th AIU inter-university National
Youth Festival.
The Principal thanked the managing committee for their untiring efforts to ensure the smooth
functioning of the institution. The principal congratulated the winners and motivated the students to
continue their hard work and wished them good luck to scale greater heights in life.
The chief guest along with the members of the Managing Committee gave away the prizes to the
meritorious students for their par excellence performance in various fields. 83 students were awarded
with college colour. 74 students were accorded with merit certificates for their excellent performance in
academic and co-curricular activities of which 41 students were awarded for Social and cultural
activities, 8 for academic, 5 NCC/NSS and 20 for sports. 26 students were honoured for scoring 100%
marks in university exams. Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur, teacher from Department of Punjabi and student Nidhi,
BSc. I medical were given the best library user awards. Student council members were also awarded for
their contribution to the college activities throughout the year. Department of Computer Science headed
by Dr. Parminder Kaur was awarded for achieving maximum the number of top university positions.
While lauding the achievements of the students the chief guest congratulated the Principal, the Director,
the Management and the staff for holding the ever rising graph of achievements. The grand spectacle
came to a close with the beats of National Anthem.
Khalsa College for Women holds Annual Convocation
Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines Ludhiana, organized Annual Convocation for the session 2024-25 on March 28, 2026 wherein around 731 students were awarded with degrees of Post Graduation, Graduation, Post graduate diplomas and graduate diplomas. Eminent Personality Dr. Vikas Rishi, Scientist G. National Agri-Food & Biomanufacturing Institute, Mohali presided over the function and delivered the convocation address. The guest was accorded a warm welcome by the esteemed members of Managing Committee Madam Kushal Dhillon, Manager KCW along with Director Dr. Mukti Gill, Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal, entire staff and the students of college at his arrival in the college premises. The function commenced with an invocation to God.

She thanked the managing committee for their untiring efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of the institution.

Addressing the degree holders Dr. Rishi congratulated the students on their achieving academic excellence and urged them to add value and meaning to their degrees by contributing to the growth and development of the nation. The event met its conclusion with the beats of the National Anthem.
Climate Change and its Impact on Punjab Agriculture
The Department of Geography, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised an extension lecture on 25-02-2026 on the topic “Climate Change and its Impact on Punjab Agriculture” to discuss the current scenario of Punjab agriculture. Dr. Pavneet Kaur Kingra, Head of the Department of Agricultural Meteorology at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, was invited as the resource person. She highlighted how the production of Rabi and Kharif crops has been affected due to changing temperature and rainfall patterns across different parts of Punjab. She also informed students about various PAU mobile apps and advisories provided to farmers to combat extreme weather events during cropping seasons.
