PUNJAB UNIVERSITY 70TH ATHLETIC MEET 2017-18 KCW Girl bags ‘Best Athlete’ trophy in Panjab University Inter College Competition

Annual  Athletic Meet was organized by Panjab university from 2nd to 4th  Nov 2017. Khalsa College for Women Ludhiana bagged IInd  runners-up trophy in the annual athletic meet. The college won 8 medals in the contest. Renu  won two gold medal in long jump &triple jump, Arshdeep won a gold in 100m hurdles bronze in triple jump, Shaili won gold medal in 3000m steeple chase, Anjali, Shivani, Khushpreet got 3  silver medals in different events. Renu was declared best athlete in Punjab university inter college  athletic championships. Renu created history by breaking two records of previous 9 years in long jump & triple jump.

KCW decorated with grade ‘A’ by NAAC

Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana has been accredited with grade ‘A’ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the second cycle of accreditation. The grade was decided during the 28th meeting of the Standing Committee of NAAC held on October 30, 2017. The college has attained the highest CGPA amongst all the women colleges of Ludhiana, affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. The NAAC peer team had visited the college on September 18th and 19th, 2017. The Managing Committee and the Principal Dr. (Mrs) Mukti Gill applauded the faculty and students for their sincere efforts and co-operation and urged them to carry on the good work with sincerity and dedication.

KCW BAGGED BRONZE MEDAL IN ROAD CYCLING

The Khalsa College for women, Ludhiana bagged bronze medal in the Inter College for women’s road cycling that was held at Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana. Amandeep, Pooja, Priyanaka &kamaljeet won bronze medals in 30km team time trial.

Our college boxing girl Srishatpal won bronze medal in (81kg) weight category.

KCW GIRLS BROUGHT LAURELS IN M.com-2nd SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS

The students of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana have achieved outstanding results in M.com-2nd Semester examinations held in May 2017. Radhika has bagged 5th position in the University and first position in college with 1146 marks out of 1400 securing 81.85 percent while Harmeet Kaur stood 6th in University and second in college with 1141 marks out of 1400 securing 81.5percent. Jaspreet Kaur Grewal has bagged 3rd position in college with 1115 marks out of 1400 securing 79.64 percent. Out of 43 students who appeared for examination, 12 students passed with distinction.
Topper of the college, Radhika attributed her success to her hardwork, tireless efforts of the Departmental staff, motivational support of the college Principal coupled with the blessings of her Parents. The College Management and Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill congratulated the staff of Post Graduate Department of Commerce for their sincere efforts in achieving excellent results and maintaining the tradition of the college in clinching top university positions and also wished them good luck to continue to soar greater heights in future.

KCW STUDENTS TOP IN PU B.Sc BIOTECHNOLOGY (HONS)

Keeping up the tradition of marvellous results, students of Khalsa College for women, Civil lines, Ludhiana have again excelled in Panjab University, May 2017 examinations for B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology Semester II. Eshita Jain has topped the university by scoring 85.4%. Jaspreet Kaur stood second in the university by securing 84.4% while Sukhdeep Kaur bagged sixth position with 82.2% marks. Students owed their success to college, their teachers and parents. The overall result of the college is hundred percent with all students passing in First division. The college Management and the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill congratulated the students for bringing laurels to their college.

KCW GIRLS SHINE IN JUDO

The Khalsa College for women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana walked away with the overall championship trophy of the Inter College women’s Judo Championship that was held at Punjab University Chandigarh. Team got 3 gold medals, 2 silver & 1 bronze medals. Vinita, Komal & Urvashi won gold medals. Amandeep & Simran won silver medals & Kirandeep won bronze medal in different weight category.
Vinita &Komal Participated in Judo World University Tournament held at Thai Pai in the month of September.

KCW GIRLS WON RUNNERSUP TROPHY IN BASKETBALL

The Physical Education Department of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana bring glory to the college Basketball team brought runners-up Trophy in the Punjab University Inter College Competition held at Chandigarh from 5 Oct to 7 Oct 2017.There was a total 9 teams in the Competition. Four teams are qualified for the league. Final match played between KCW v/s PGGCG, SEC 11, CHD. KCW won the match with 18 points.

KCW 2ND RUNNER UPS IN CROSS COUNTRY

Students of Khalsa college for Women, Civil lines Ludhiana accolades to the college bagging prizes in Inter-college Cross Country Competition, held at Punjab University Chandigarh on 5th October 2017.Team gold bronze medal in cross country.Shalini selected for Inter University Camp. The Managing Committee of the college and Principal Dr.Mrs.Mukti Gill congratulated Physical Education Dept.on their recognition of achievements & wished them good luck for future endeavours.

KCW GIRLS SHINE IN CHESS

It is indeed a matter of proud for Khalsa College for Women Civil Lines Ludhiana as the chess team won Runner ups trophy in inter college competition held at Punjab University Chandigarh from 4 Oct to 5 oct 2017. Shradha, Himandeep, Gurleen & Diksha bagged silver medal. Shradha and Himandeep kaur selected for Inter University Camp.

Cleanliness Drive by KCW NCC Cadets

A clean India could be the best tribute that we could pay to the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Swatch Bharat Mission on 2nd October 2014 throughout length and breadth of the country as a national movement with the aim to achieve the vision of clean India.
Partnering cleanliness campaign of India, NCC cadets of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, joined hands for the cleanliness drive organized on 2nd October 2017 in the college campus. The campaign was organized under the stewardship of College Principal, College Associate NCC Officer and staff of 3 Punjab Girls Bn. NCC Ludhiana. The cadets pledged to keep their surroundings clean and green. They promised that they would fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of clean and hygienic India.
College Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts put in by the NCC cadets. She added that these young minds must be trained to take part in such campaigns, so that they themselves take the responsibility of keeping the environment clean. The talent, energy and creativity of cadets must be channelized to bring a positive change in the society. Such events help in acquainting the young cadets with their social responsibilities, which are missing in today’s generation. She motivated the cadets to abide by their pledge and convince their friends and families as well for the same.
