Extension Lecture on Writing Skills held at KCW

The English Department of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised an extension lecture on Writing Skills on 21st February, 2025 in the Seminar Hall. The objective was to educate students on nuances of writing English.

Dr. Jaskiran Tiwana, author and Professor  at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada was the resource person of the event. Dr. Tiwana enlightened the students on the nuances of writing while discussing rhyme scheme, meter and importance of using literary devices. She also talked about books and her inspirational journey of being an author.

She shared insights on her debut poetry book titled – ‘The Guava Tree’ which is a collection of uplifting poetry that celebrates life in all its seasons and her second book, titled – ‘Marmalade Memoirs’ that celebrates her childhood and growing up years; she says is an intellectual exploration into the meaning of life. Being an alumna of KCW, she inspired students as she guided them on future career choices.

The Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal congratulated Mrs. Sabina Bhalla, Head of English Department and the entire staff for taking the initiative.
