FDP on Stress and Anxiety Management

A Faculty Development Program was organized by the Departments of Computer Science and Psychology in Khalsa College for Women, in collaboration with New Delhi Institute of Management. This program was a part of KCW IQAC initiative to promote Mental Health and Well Being and improve effectiveness of the teaching faculty.

The Resource Person, Dr. Shivani Kapoor, Associate Professor from New Delhi started with an introduction to the concept of stress and anxiety in our daily lives and helped the participants assess their level of stress through a self administered test. She interpreted the results and gave a comprehensive layout regarding steps to deal with stress and anxiety.

The thought provoking session emphasized the need for a drastic change in our mental sets to help cope with daily stressors in everyday life. Dr. Kapoor taught the concept of Affirmations to deal with negativity. She elaborated on the content and steps towards making of ideal and practical affirmations. The queries of the participants were promptly dealt with and the group was helped to learn making of affirmations and dealing with stress.The Principal, Dr. (Mrs) Mukti Gill applauded the efforts of IQAC in promoting Mental Health and Well Being in the staff and ensuring a positive teaching learning environment in the institution
