Khalsa College for Women holds Annual Convocation 2018-19

Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines Ludhiana, holds Annual Convocation for the session 2018-19, wherein 1300 students were awarded with degrees of Post Graduation, Post graduate diplomas and graduate diplomas. Luminary Dr. Navtej Singh Bains, former Director of Research, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, presided over the function and delivered the convocation address. The guest was accorded a warm welcome by the esteemed members of college Managing Committee, Madam Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mukti Gill, entire staff and the students of college at his arrival in the college premises. The function commenced with an invocation to God. Madam Principal riveted the audience by presenting the annual report of the college through multimedia and in that she highlighted the achievements of students in academic, cultural and sports arena for the session 2020-21. She highlighted that the persistent hard work of the students reaped rich dividends in the year 2019-20 and 2020-21, where in students secured various 82 & 79 Top Ten positions in the university exams respectively. She highlighted the achievements of Physical Education Department and stated that it managed to clinch 37 Gold Medals, 31 Silver Medals, and 60 Bronze Medals. The college clinched the overall trophy at Zonal as well as Inter Zonal Youth Festival. Students bagged 49 prizes in all (20 first, 16 second, & 13 third prizes) at the P.U Zonal Youth Festival held at Khalsa College for Women from 17th November, 2021 to 21st November, 2021. At the Inter-Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival organized at A.S. College Khanna, College students procured 20 prizes in all (5 first, 6 second & 10 third prizes).

07 students were conferred with the Roll of Honor for their achieving excellence in academic activities. 50 students of the college were placed In different companies. In her address, she expressed the belief that the institution is committed to nurture the students not only academically but aims at their holistic growth.  She thanked   the managing committee for their untiring efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of the institution.

The guest for the occasion ignited the young minds with illuminating words. Addressing the degree holders the chief guest congratulated the students on their achieving academic excellence. In his speech he urged the students to learn the art of survival in the world which is changing at a fast pace and posing new challenges everyday. He further said that in this era of information you need to learn, unlearn and relearn to reinvent yourself to match with ever-changing paradigms of work culture. He emphasized that you must choose information with clarity so as to build for yourself a bright and promising future. The event met its conclusion with the beats of National Anthem.
