Khalsa College for Women Legal Awareness Campaign concludeswith Empowering Rural Women

In the concluding series to the Legal awareness campaign , legal literacy Club members organized a visit to GTB National College, Mulanpur Dakha with the objective to empower rural women. Dr. Khushdip Kaur, coordinator of Legal Literacy Club deliberated on the importance of Legal literacy for Women. She also shared insights on the nuances of legal system and how women can seek help in case of need. The students Parneet, president of legal literacy Club and vice president of the club apprised the audience about Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place and also raised awareness on the ways to deal with it taking legal aid. Informative leaflets were also distributed towards the end of the session. Other members Jasleen and Naman presented a power point raising awareness on Cyber Security.
The club has successfully launched a series of legal awareness campaigns aimed at educating students and the wider community about important social issues such as child abuse, cybersecurity, and sexual harassment. The first event took place on January 30, 2025, at the college campus, where participants actively engaged in discussions and received informative pamphlets.
The second campaign in the same series was held on February 4, 2025, at Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School. This session concentrated on the ever-relevant issues of cybersecurity and sexual harassment in the workplace. Participants, including students and staff, received pamphlets outlining legal rights, preventive strategies, and the necessary steps to take if faced with such challenges.
The Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal congratulated Dr. Khushdip Kaur, coordinator of Legal Literacy Club and appreciates the club’s dedication in spreading legal awareness and providing resources that allow students and the community to effectively navigate and address complex social issues.
