The Geography Department of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines , Ludhiana celebrated World Wetland Day on 1st February, 2025 (Saturday) in the college campus during morning assembly. The theme for the year 2025 is “Protect Wetlands for Our Common Future”.
The students were enlightened on the importance of Wetlands being referred to as Kidneys of the Earth. A quiz was also conducted based on wetlands and their importance and to spread awareness among students about the conditions of wetlands now-a-days. The event was culminated with pledge to preserve wetlands, promote environment sustainability etc. The Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal applauded the efforts of the Geography Department.
