On April 2, 2025, the Punjab government intensified its war against drug abuse with the launch of the second phase of ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ in Ludhiana. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann personally attended the campaign’s major rally at Ghumar Mandi, where he addressed a massive gathering, urging people to actively participate in the fight against drugs.
In his speech, CM Mann stated, “Punjab’s youth must be saved from the clutches of drugs. This is not just a government initiative but a people’s movement. Together, we will root out this menace and ensure a brighter future for our coming generations.” He also emphasized the state’s firm stance against drug smugglers and reiterated the government’s commitment to cracking down on illegal drug networks.
As part of this movement, students from the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Khalsa College for Women (KCW) joined the rally with full enthusiasm. Marching through through, they carried banners and placards with messages promoting a drug-free Punjab. Their participation symbolized the power of youth in social change, inspiring locals to take a stand against substance abuse.
The event concluded with CM Mann personally interacting with the students and lauding their efforts in spreading awareness. While taking pledge against drugs ,he encouraged them to be ambassadors of a Nasha Mukt Punjab and assured that the government would continue to support initiatives that empower youth and communities in this fight.
